  • Sigma should release SD Merrills as an option for those who prefer the Merrills over the Quattros. It is highly unlikely that I would ever buy a Quattro, but would buy newer versions of the Merrills.

      I agree with you. And I sincerely think that at Sigma Headquarters they agree too…
      if not, why they test and calibrate their lenses with a Merrill sensor and not a Quattro ?
      Merrill are for Pros that used to work with Large Format Cameras and a tripod. Quattros are for amateurs that prefer hand held shooting in low light.
      Last year I was curious and bought a DP0 Quattro. After half a dozen shots I was very disappointed with the results. The camera went back to Amazon. Then I bought a Ricoh GW3 Wide adapter that I can use with my DP1 Merrill and the results are much more better than Quattro !
